Antifoam Additive

Minimize Foaming & Prevent Adverse Effects After Slurry is Left to Set

Uncontrolled foam during cement slurry mixing, caused by additives, can compromise density, rheology, and strength, leading to pump cavitation and gas permeability. Antifoams and defoamers ensure consistent performance and operational reliability in well-cementing.

DOSAS antifoam agents designed to eliminate air entrainment and control foam during blending, modify the surface tension in the cement slurry so that foaming is prevented or the foam breaks up.

DosDefoam™ Antifoam Agents

Penetrate the foam or bubble lamella as droplets emulsified in the foaming medium

Well Cementing Antifoam

DosDefoam™ are a full range of liquid products designed to break down the foam in the drilling fluid with versatile chemistries but not limited to:

  • Silicone,
  • Fatty alcohols,
  • Alkylene oxides derivatives.

Foam and Entrained Air Testing (FEAT)

At DOSAS, we use a fluid recirculation loop designed to dynamically measure fluid foaming characteristics. The instrument is temperature controlled, open atmosphere, and features an inline foam generation chamber to entrain air in the experimental media. The instrument column is filled with the experimental media and density is continuously recorded once recirculation begins. The effect of DosDefoam™ additives may be determined at any time by injection into the foam chamber.
