PolyFlux™ Permanent Water shutoff

Minimizing Leakoff, Maximizing Viscosity

PolyFlux™ is an advanced aqueous gel formulated from synthetic polymers and organic crosslinkers to efficiently manage water flow in naturally fractured reservoirs. This innovative solution is designed for application through both injector and producer wells, effectively addressing high water cuts resulting from production through fissures.

The success of PolyFlux™ can be attributed to its high molecular weight polymers. These pioneering polymers effectively minimize leakoff into the surrounding matrix, allowing for significantly greater viscosity at lower polymer concentrations. The crosslinked material can be characterized as a dynamic gel that effortlessly flows while still retaining the capability to infiltrate natural fractures.

Performance Highlight

Elevating Oil Production in Fractured Reservoir

A conformance treatment was necessary in Kuwait for a well situated in a fractured limestone formation. The issue stemmed from high salinity levels in the water and the presence of solution channels, which were leading to premature water breakthrough in some nearby producing wells. This specific well was producing 400bbl/day with no oil output. In response, Dosas proposed a polymer gel treatment using PolyFlux™ to seal off the areas experiencing water ingress.

The application of PolyFlux™ proved successful, eliminating water production and increasing oil output to 180bbl/day. Remarkably, nine months later, the well continued to produce 90bbl/day oil.

  • Water & Gas Shutoff

PolyFlux™ effectively manages both water and gas shutoff challenges, making it an invaluable utility solution.

  • Temperature Range

PolyFlux™ excels in a wide range of environments, effortlessly handling bottomhole static temperatures (BHSTs) from 60 to 170°C.

  • Brine Adaptability

PolyFlux™ withstands brines over 150,000 ppm; monovalent cations minimally impact gel integrity long-term.
